Default 65 Coupe front drum brakes.

I am looking for a little help here. We just bouhgt a 65 coupe that has been outfitted with a 9 inch rear. The problem is that I have a 5 lug rear axle and a 4 lug front. We are looking to put some wheels on here and get rid of the hubcaps. Does anyone know if any compatible years had a 5 lug drum that will work with my 65 manual drum setup.

I would think a Fairlane from the mid 60s, or a Cougar would be an easy swap. . Since you are going to change the spindles anyway, maybe you would consider the disc brake 5 lug swap, from a 70s Ford Granada or Lincoln Versailles. There is alot of info on this swap on the web, and from what I've read its fairly easy to do. Those front drum brakes were not too good at stopping in a straight line.

Granda brake swap is easy to do an stops well even without a power booster
