Default Tranny swap

Hello
I`m planning to swap the C-4 in my `66 289HT with a 4spd Toploader transmission. Can anyone help me with links to some guides etc?
Thanx

I can't help with links, but I can tell you what will be required-Here's a list:
Transmission
Bellhousing with clutch fork
clutch disc/pressure plate/release bearing
Crankshaft pilot bearing
Clutch pedal
Clutch equalizer bar and associated springs
Equalizer bar upper and lower rods
Clutch return spring
Equalizer bar bracket(engine and frame side)
Manual Flywheel(164 tooth-I believe)
Manual transmission driveshaft yoke(maybe a differnt length shaft-measure first)
Starter
Speedo cable
It is pretty straight forward to do the swap. If you have all the necessary parts it should be a 1-1/2 day project. The hardest part will be gathering all the required parts(a parts car or Ebay would be best). If you have a shop manual it is helpful for diagrams and specs on adjusting the clutch. Good luck.

Turbo, what would you be asking? Shipping would be to 06615? Unless Catch22 wants it, of course.

I`ve sent bob emmerich`s "parts list" (thanks) to a used parts dealer in Sweden. He`s asking 1.152 U.S dollars for the lot, including the toploader. Everything comes off the same donor car. This is a bargain, right?

That's not too bad a price, here in "The States" it would cost that for a good toploader.

Does the dealer give any warranty of any sort on the 4-speed? It would be a shame to spend that kind of cash on a blown or nearly blown tranny.

No, he does`nt give any warranty, but I`m picking up the parts myself, instead of having them shipped to me. This way I can inspect the tranny before buying. What should I look for? Are there any well known weak parts?
