well thats a good idea i mean bigger engine means more ***** , but yes in order to put these big blocks u need sum mods..but u could stick with a smaller engine like the 347 yes its small but it could put out the same horse power like 500+ depends on what u want. mine for example i have is a 347 dominator from chp coasthigh performance iits costs about 6g's and i did the dyno; and my horse power came to be 560hp with the other stuff i bought (all motor and its pretty good so i mean you can look around the websites that builds small engines with big horse power also for your tranny you can get a richmond 6-speed tranny it sells for about 2 g's from summit, exrta shift means extra *****!!!! lol hahhahahahah i love these engines!!!!!!!

Ill probably have to go with a different tranny then because im looking for about 450+ hp. Thanks again for the help, Adam
ORIGINAL: kenbossy22

my friend has the 3:73 gears in his 90 gt and that thing with only 225 hp really gets off the line and can lay some rubber down. In my opinion thats the best bet. as for your tranny ..i mean if your not gonna be pushing more than 400 hp ..a t-5 with minimum upgrades could work but anything over that and you'd need something else...i dont know that much about aftermarket transmissions for that application but steeda makes a tranny for their lx sedan that runs 10's ....here....http://www.steeda.ca/s_57.asp?pro=52&c=

i dont know if thats any help but let me know what u end up doing cuz i dont know enough about this type of engine transmission combo.

Actually now after doing more research and talking to some people here im really considering putting CHP's small block 427. Its rated at 550hp. Ill either go with that engine or a 408 which is close to 500hp. Do you have that richmond 6 speed in your car? If so how do you like it? CHP's 427 small block should go in there pretty easy shouldn't it? Thanks, Adam

oh yeh i just got mine not so long ago and man lemme tell ya that is the best having the extra gear makes people go holy **** i mean i raced sum heads i mean i raced a 5.0. and he had a t-5 it was funny though cuz he thought mine was a four or three speed and when he relized i left em much like a car length, and he was like huh lol he asked what i had i just simply smiled and said dont trip homes!!!!!!!! but it should fit well the 427 maybe ill see u on the track one day and maybe we can duke it out lol but good luck with ur engine search also u can go to carrol shelby website he sell's engine blocks and parts and his blocks are pure aluminum lol but it cost an arm and a leg, i mean the block from shelby cost like 5'gs but i rather stick with chp cost about the same and has most parts assembled...

Will the chp 427 cobra jet classic small block fit in a 69 mach 1? Im considering buying a mach 1 now instead of the 67 fastback.

Tremec makes a racing tranny that will hold up to high HP. There's a guy here at work pushing 700 and it's holding up fine. I think they're pretty pricey though.
