Manual Choke Cable

Manual Choke Cable
I have a bit of a silly problem. I have a 1966 Coupe 289V8 with a 4V Performer 289 and Performer 600fm Carb with manual choke.
My car has got on the inside a manual choke stick, to the left of the steering column, but there is no cable attached to it.
So i went out to get a new one. Last night i spent over an hour trying to find the hole that the cable should fit in to reach from the choke-stick to the carb.
Does anyone have an idea where to find this hole ? Pictures would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

RE: Manual Choke Cable
Yeah, that **** to the left of the steering column is for the fresh air vent. (See pic 1) There is an access hole to the left of the steering colum on the engine side where you could run a manual choke cable through (see pic 2)
