Default convertible rear window

I am a recent owner of a 65 convertible with a plastic rear window. A coworker told me I should remove the window everytime I put the top down to prevent it from damage. This seems like a lot of trouble to go through everytime I put the top down. Should I remove the window? Any thoughts??

Depends on the type but seems a pain in the ****. I belive you can get a spray for the flexible window that will keep it flexible and clear my folks niva vert window was cloudy so much it was like reversing a van!!!

Keeping it clean is critical. Dirt can build up and easily start to scratch it since it is such a soft type of plastic. Be careful putting the top up on a cold day while the window is still zipped. You can damage the window or at least the zipper on cold days.
