1966 fastback

RE: 1966 fastback
First of all, there is no such thing as a 1966 Mustang Fastback T-5. T-5 is a transmission. Now, he may very well have put a T-5 transmission in that fastback, but it didn't come that way from the factory. Here is a picture of the gas cap that all 66 Mustangs shared except for the Gt. Included is also a pic of the 66 GT gas cap.

RE: 1966 fastback
Extracted from Hornblowers article:
In Germany a small problem had to be managed: The companies Kreidler and Krupp, that had secured their copyrights for the name "Mustang" for small motorbikes and bigger trucks. They protested against the usage of the name by Ford. So the stylists from Cologne went to work and produced some small metal emblems (original text says letters) with T 5, that were attached to the US cars. However, the running horse in the grille and at the fenders made it quite clear to the spectator, what this car was named originally.

RE: 1966 fastback
I would love an orginal 65 or 66 t-5 v-8 fastback...Your gramps is a lucky man I do have some pics at home of a german t-5 so will check tonite. There was even a few(maybe only one) stangs made/assembed in Amsterdam.... I am guesing here but I would think that the 65 t-5 gas cap and 66 t-5 were the same because the limited amount made and are interchangable i would think ford would fit the 66 with the same cap as 65.
I would love to see pics of the dash inc. the km speedo
