15x7 stock steel wheels for my 67 convertible
Hey, everyone. I have a 67 convertible that currently has 14x6 magnum 500s on it. As much as I like them, I want to go with a more stock look, since these didn't come with them.
Originally, my car came with 14x6 black stock steel wheels with wire hubcaps. I don't want to bring the hubcaps back becuase I never cared for them, but I do want stock steel wheels. Does anyone know where I can get stock 15x8 stock wheels? It doesn't appear that Mustang made these, only 14x6, 14x6.5, 15x6 and 15x6.5. I'm hoping that an aftermarket company has made them (stock look, but wider).
Question 2: Is there a website or a calculator program that will help me determine whether my wheels/tires are too big for my car?
Thanks so much and Happy Holidays.

If you don't get an answer on this section, check with the experts of MF regarding wheels and tires.

the title of the post says you are looking for 15x7 but the text says 15x8, which are you looking for? My 67 Convertible has 15x7 Style Steel wheels...they fit just fine with no alteration and the tires are definitely wider than the 14x6 but not too much. Looks a bit meaner, but not over the top. There are 10 spoke Shelby reproductions out now in the 15 X 7 size. These weren't available 10 years ago when I bought my Mag 500's, but had they been available, I think I would have gone with these.

Thanks for catching my mistake. I meant 15x7. But I wasn't looking for mag 500s or the steel styled wheels. I want the bone stock black steel rims that were shipped. I checked out a site called www.classicchamberedexhaust.com that sells the original steel wheels, but the sizes only go up to 15x6.5. I know that there are aftermarket companies that make repros of magnum 500s in various sizes, so I was hoping somebody knew of a company that did the same with the stock steel wheels.

you want to widen a 15x 7 wheel to 8" or 9" or more? Then these are the guys to call www.weldcraftwheels.com
I used them and there work is incredible.

RE: 15x7 stock steel wheels for my 67 convertible
I know I had 15X7 steel rims on my 66 GT350 for racing, I think they were Ford station wagon rims. My 1971 Colony Park had them from the factory. Try a junkyard or wheel supplier and check for wheels for the big Ford and Mercury wagons probably from 65-77 model years. I used G60-15 tires on the Shelby, the wagon mounted 235-75R15 tires, I had to buy LT series to find them usually, no one was stocking them in the late 80s early 90s except for trucks.
