just bought a 67 FB w/ fold down rear seat. looks like its missing the part behind seat back that folds down over the seat back. looks like the piece with the piano hinge on it is missing. did all FB's have this?

there is a piece that folds behind the seat when it is upright, and that same piece folds over the seat bottoms when the seat is folded down. If I read your post correctly, it sounds like that piece is missing, it is attached like piano hinges, mine is the same. Its doubtful that a junkyard will sell just the part you are missing, they probably will want you to buy the entire seat. You could try www.car-part.com or try www.cjponyparts.com they have a Mustang salvage yard.



Edit*** not all fastbacks had fold down rear seats, it was an option.
