I just got my copy of Mustang Monthly. On the cover is a striking new vinatge/customized yellow Shelby Mustang by Unique Performance. They have some licensing deal with Shelby that allows them to use his name and add the VIN numbers to the "continuation registry".

What is the deal on these cars? Are they really great or is this all hype? I think there was some discussion about this company and their $250,000 Elenor cars.

I must admit, Ido love the love of that car on the cover!

Butalas, I do not have - will never have - or would ever, even if I did have - $150,000 to spend on a car.

I wouldn't just call it hype...but I wouldn't say it isn't worth the money either. It's an investment. You could compare it to the stock market, people basically decide what it is worth and it's up to the investor to make the prediction on whether or not the investment will go up in value. As cool as it looks 9 times out of 10 that car is going to be a garage queen. Personally, I'm getting sick of seeing the extreme restomods on MM (and I'm restomodding my car).

Not a bad looking ride...but considering the amount of parts and labor going into one of these...I can sorta understand the 150 Gs.

your buying a name basicly all the parts you can buy but since its a real shelby it will never go down in price

wow i thought that was a 71 cuda for a second.....nice looking. but Unique performance is ran by Chip Foose, who designed that one, elarnor ( gone in 60 secs ), which i love) and the 07 or 06 eleanor which looks terriable IMO.

I wouldn't need a "offical shelby". I would be perfectly happy spending 60 grand on my stanf then that one. then i could always restore a different project.
