Ok, well every since i've owned the car the damn thing drips tranny fluid. It really pisses me off knowing every parking spot i've parked in. Its a 4 speed Toploader thats leaking out of the 2nd gear shift arm/lever. I dont think thats the correct terminology but its where the shift linkage for 2nd gear mounts to an arm with a clip etc. The only proper way to fix this i guess would be to replace that seal but i'd have to do that from the inside of the tranny from what i've heard, and i aint dropping that thing if it just wants to drip on me. Is there any other fix? the only bandaid i could figure would just be an O-ring externally. Any tips?

My dads gettin pissed and i gotta fix it this weekend lol, i'ma try the o-ring, but no other ideas?

i have a similar problem on my c6 but i don't like getting into the tranny so my buddy is gunna do it at his tranny shopr for 60 or so but that is all the seals and what not

Alrite cool thanks. Maybe i can find a mechanic buddy to seal it up for cheap.

if you leave a very thin film of oil on the shaft, then dry everything else off real good, you could put some silicone around it, and it may work. The oil on the shaft would keep the silicone from sticking so it could move without tearing. Just a thought, not sure how well it would work, but its cheap enough to try.
