I was thinking air gap also, but will I have any clearance issues with that?

ORIGINAL: roostracing

i'd SKIP the performer intake (a little better than stock but it is a stock replacement) and move up to an Edelbrock Performer RPM air gap intake. I have never been fond of Edelbrock carburaters so id go to a holley 650 vacuum secondaries or if you have a little more cash id buy a 650 street demon carb (vacuum secondaries). If it were me i'd save the money and do it right the first time....rpm intake ($220), street demon carb($450), hooker ceramic coated headers ($600), and a pair of magnaflow mufflers 2.5inch($180 pair) with new 2.5 inch piping....i hope this helps

+1 for the Edelbrock RPM Air-Gap Intake
+1 for either Long Tube, or Tri-Y Headers
+1 for X or H pipe
+1 for dizzy upgrade and hotter ignition - my personal favorite is the crane fireball stuff over the msd for good reasons i have explained before

for great streetability, look at a 625 BG Road Demon or 650 BG Speed Demon. Your car would probably respond to the 625 very well.

also things like an electric fan will free up some HP and cool your motor better (its gonna be hotter under that hood with headers)

UWTI,

If you are looking to replace your factory intake and carburator let me know. I am willing to pay a very fair price for the pair. Drop me a line if you are selling them.
