If i bought this http://www.mustangsplus.com/Merchant...y_Code=t5_kits would i be able to put it on my car or do I have to have a T-5 tranny?

RE: t-5 trans
That link shows the kit to do the conversion. You'll still need a tranny and I'm pretty sure you need to have the drive shaft cut. Not to mention a shifter. I'd also replace the clutch while I was at it. It gets pretty pricy.

RE: t-5 trans
I have not only a 66 coupe but also a 96 GT convertible. It has the T45 which is not much different from the T5. A drawback is the transmission, especially the shift forks is WEAK. If you have any kind of power and a heavy foot ( especially if it will see the track) you should look into a TKO or Tremec. They are much stronger, but also more expensive. However they are a must for any high level of power. My GT has the stock 4.6 and it has already given me problems with the stock forks bending or breaking twice at the track.

I got one in mine and it works great! I don't goto to the track, but I will gas it sometimes. It is also much lighter. The is a guy on here that is looking for a 3 speed. Could be you for all a know. Maybe you two can work some out.
