Wow, that was a nice history lesson, who is still here besides Norm, CrunchSkippy, and Paddy that had posted on this thread?
I want to say that 1967 was the first year where lap belts were mandatory in the US.

I saw a factory invoice or window sticker for 65 that showed you could order the car with out seatbelts. I don't know if thats true about 66 though.
In my opinion, seat belts are a good thing, but not something that they should have a law for. Its just more revenue BS.
