200 to 250 6 cyl swap
We have a 68 200 6 cyl auto coupe. The motor was gone when we purchased it. I am looking for a motor to replace it and was offered a 250 out of a 70 Stang from a friend. I was wondering if I can use that motor in our car and what would I need to make it work. I don't have them side by side so I can't tell. Is there any advatage to using the 250 over the 200 ?

Of course the extra 50ci is a good thing! It is my understanding that it is a straight forward and bolt in swap that will also give you the advantage of going with an aftermarket intake. The 200 intake is cast with the head, and as I understand it, the 250 uses a bolt on intake.
(that six looks pretty good true 66)

check fordsix.com, they will give you the straight stuff, if memory is right the head is taller on the 250 vs the 200 so hood clearance issues could show up ,,,you can also try classicinlines.com for help

Well the car is for our teenager /first time driver and the Girlfriend thinks he needs a six to keep him form getting in trouble. I'm still trying to fingure out that way of thinking. We have a parts car with a full V8 drivetrain
