Default took apart the T5 tonight. some pictures

so, taking apart the T5 really wasnt as complicted as i thought it would be. I pulled most of it apart with minimal tools, no press. and a couple blocks of wood. I still have about half of the main shaft to do, but i have to stop by a machine shop to get it pressed apart (da#n[:@]was hoping to do this all myself! hah), and get the cases cleaned in a fancy wachingmachine.

heres some pictures if anyonewants a look. nothing special

Nice work man...

It looks like that might be fun to put back together!

Have you thought about a cheap prees from Harbor Freight?

Probably like $100.00....

Where did you end up getting the rebuild parts and replacement gears? Also did you get a one piece steel retainer and the improved counter gear retainer? Also which videos did you get? I already had the cartapes.com video I was telling you about but I also recently bought the badshoe video and it is really good too.

Overhauling a transmission is a major project and not something you want to have to redo so if it was me I would replace the blocking rings and sincroes and of course all the bearings. Not replacing the sincroes and blocker rings is kind of like putting in a new clutch and not replacing the pilot or throw out bearings, you can use the old parts but if they arn't up to the task you have to pull it all back out and do it again. Just my opinion
