my next question Guys! i am now in the process of taking the Edelbrock intake off my 302 in my 66 fast back because its leaking oil at the rear of the manifold---i have 2 questions--1-is there a gasket on the rear or is it just silicone bead?? 2- the distributor is not in the manifold so do i need to pull it when i take the manifold off??

The rear of the gasket could be gasket (probably cork) or silicone bead, depending on who put it on. You dont have to take the dizzy out, but it was easier to take it out when I did it.

+1, Definetly make some alignment pins, and use them! (just extra long bolts with the heads cut off)

Pull the distributor. Use RTV for the front and rear of the manifold. DO NOT USE the cork gaskets that come in an intake manifold gasket set.
