Torque box question

RE: Torque box question
Yeah, weld new ones in at some point. Since they're pretty rotted out, I would just assume cutting them out now so the rust doesn't spread even more, especially since the Mustang is not driveable anyways.

RE: Torque box question
(Please correct me if I'm wrong) the torque boxes are located on the underside of the car, towards the front of floorpan. They are there to keep the body(?) from twisting. From what I read, the 65-66 convertibles had them to reinforce the frame since the top was gone. Not sure the 65-66 coupes/fb had them. I read somewhere that the 67's only had them on the driver's side (cpe/fb) and my 68 has them on both sides.

I wouldn't leave the car without them for any period of time simply because if they are rotted out other parts of the car might be as well and who knows...the t0boxes may be the only thing holding it all together (j/k). Is there something that would prevent you from welding in the new ones right away?
