Default need advice on front end rebuild!

Ok, so the steering and front end on the 65 are shot (big suprise). It has power steering and I guess I will keep it that way. The previous owner put on new shocks and springs front and back. when I had it on the rack, I grabed the rack and pinion and could move it easily by hand and all the bushings looked bad. I'm going to replace the steering gear box, the power rack and pinion, and rebuild the frount end (upper and lower control arms, idler arm, the wors) . I have been looking at kits but nothing really suits my needs. What do you floks suggest??? Thanks!!!

www.opentrackerracingproducts.com for the suspension. I wish I would have saved up a few more bucks and got a full-kit from him instead of going another way...

Their parts are very-high quality in my opinion and worth the extra dough. I have a set of his roller spring saddles on my 67. Shame I didn't get an entire rollerized front suspension.

Gearboxes are expensive new, I got mine rebuilt by www.virginiamustang.com . As for the R&P setup, I have standard manual steering...

If you ageconsidering tubular, I would go with TCP over Global. The adjustment on the upper
arms save a lot of mucking around with the lower arm offset. But the TCP lower eccentric eliminators
are about 3mm too narrow in diameter ( thesquare piece with three offset holes in it )compared to
the original bolt/welded washer assembly.

I agree with JapanGT. I put the TCP coil-over conversion last summer and I am more than pleased...kinda pricey, but it is all real high quality. Did the shelby drop at the same time...with mid-eye leafs in the back she is low and mean now. Also put a MP brakes power front disk conversion on at the same time. It is like a totally different car. When I do the steering I think I am going to use a randall's rack power unit with their pump (I currently have power steering). www.randallsrack.com

It is hard to say what you should do without knowing your budget but, I can tell you what I did. Started out by buying a rack and pinon kit. It is an excellent kit from flaming river.
