Anyone else done air ride on a 66
has anyone done air ride on their 64-66 ford mustang? i am wanting to do it on my 66 but the $6000 kit from air ride technologies seems a little ridiculous for everything you get, but from i have searched nobody else makes an actual kit, but being around the scene for awhile and helping on a couple of mini truck builds i know that piecing a kit together can sometimes be cheaper and work just as well, the main thing i like is the actual digital switch box that ir ride tech. offers but if any other company has one then im open to use them, as well as bags, would it be wise to do it mini truck style and get whatever bag seems to be the right size and weld it in place or try and find something that bolts in place? just wondering what you guys have done if any of you have done it before, or if you actually bought the $6000 kit and went with that, which they also have i believe a $4200 kit but just has the regular switch box but i dont guess it would be hard to change it to the digital style but then that starts into spending almost the same amount of money in the end. what do you guys suggest..... and im sure i will get just dont do air ride but for those of you who have seen my other posts know that this is being built as a show car, sound quality competition car, and shop demo car so yeah i would like air ride on it

a guy on here is using the suspension off a lincoln mark 8 i assume he kept the air ride stuff off the lincoln, might want to find his thread and see what all he is using for a budget kit if you can do the mods yourself

Well $6k sounds pretty reasonable since my mechanic is putting a TCP Air Ride System on a 66 for another customer that wants the adjustability. He's paying almost double just for the parts.
Post pics as you go though. We all like the "picture book effect" when it comes to builds.

ok cool, just wated a second opinion on it. and i will have pics of EVERYTHING i am building it as a how car and sound quality car and in sound quality i have to have a picture book of everything car audio related and how it was all installed but i will have the camera out and taking pics of everything i do to it, i have already got a good bit of pics from just getting it home and taking everything out of it

I dont see the $6k in part or the other guy paying 12K.He must have dropped his pants for that.
For a OEM suspension, the front bag/shocks are $1100, the rears are about $500, ,the you have a compressor($170), maybe a 5 gallong tank, lines, fittings and guage/switches(maybe 5-600 bucks)
I guess if your having it installed, the extra $3k could account for labor at a snails pace.
