Default Need help quick: Power steering cylinder

Ok I've been having various issues with my power steering cylinders and kept getting defective units and whatnot. My shop finally ordered me a different brand, SSBC, power steering cylinder and I went to install it today and everything went perfectly until I started the car. When I turned it off to check for leaks there was a huge puddle, everything I put in came back onto my driveway. The fluid is coming out of both hose inlets on the cylinder and I have no idea why, they threaded on perfectly, the hoses are brand new, and so is the cylinder. What do I have to do?

A couple things my dad and I thought of are maybe I have to tighten the hoses a LOT, I did it until they were tight, do I need to torque these suckers down?

Another thing is we're wondering if the brand new hoses we have have a different flange size than the seat in the power steering, causing it to leak. We find that hard to believe though.

Any ideas? I'm going back up to college tomorrow and need to fix this, and I'm just pissed because this is like the 5th problem I've had with the power steering cylinder. Any help is appreciated

What kind of fittings do the hose ends use? Pipe thread? Flare?

it's got the threads over a flared metal end, here's the hose, it goes from the control valve to the slave cylinder

Possible that you got the flares misaligned when you tightened the nuts down. Loosen them up, try to straighten them out, then crank them down real good.

All the flares should be the same 45-degrees.
Are you sure there were flared seats in the power cylinder? Could they have forgot to install them. That sure is a bad leak for that area.
With new seats and hoses, the fitting should only need to be real snug to seal properly.

Believe me I checked for the seats before I installed it, my last unit had a problem with them. So this problem definitely isn't a lack of seats, but I do agree that it is a lot of fluid... It was running for a couple minutes and i turned the wheel side to side to prime it, so that pressure could have forced a lot of fluid out.

Anyone have any other ideas? I'm going to try to loosen them and realign them like Tad said later today, but time is short since it's easter haha
