I would love to get a March system, but that's WAY out of my price range. I'm on a limited budget now. I'll just have to cobble together a bracket/pulley system of my own that works with what I already have. I know the parts are out there, I'll just have to find them.

The balancer will be the same, the only one that isn't going to work is a late model 50oz balancer. The early ones are 28oz and will all work fine.

What year did it go to 50oz?

Anyway, I've seen OEM pulleys with 3 sets of holes. I'm replacing pulleys anyway, so could I just take the old 3-bolt crank pulley, and drill new holes to make it a 4-bolt? The "old" crank pulley is from the original 289 that was in this car, and is actually an aftermarket 6" diameter (rusty) chrome pulley.

Once you drill holes in the chrom one, the chrome will start to flake off anyway. Might look over the balancer to make sure the rubber isnt comming apart, you may have to replace it anyway.

I've got no problem with a flaking chrome pulley. It's older than I am, and rusting, but, you're right. I'll replace the damper, and pulley to convert it back to an early style. I have a "new" 3-bolt damper, and a early style timing cover with a cast in pointer I can use. These "new" parts have been sitting in their boxes in storage for about 8 years. They've never been used, so I'll save a good amount of money over buying really new parts.
