Default Ended up replacing the wheel bearings

After repacking my front wheel bearings the banging clunking noise went away...for about 5 miles. So today I replaced the bearings. Had not done that before. Was not too hard for a first-timer. Now I see why you need a punch...to drive the inner bearing out.

Anyway, that seems to have done the trick. I took it out for about 2 hours, about 50 to 75 miles or so, at all speeds up to 70. She's quiet now. My first real drive in it. I didn't want to come back home.

Thanks for the bearing help guys.

Well, in addition to greasing the bearings I did a pretty good job on the floor, about 6 shop rags, my clothes, and yes....just as I was packing all the grease into them, my nose started itching.
