Stock Carburetor
Is the stock carb for the 1970 any good? It is a 2-barrel on a 302. I was reading other threads on the forum through the search option and it seems most people buy new ones? Also I was looking at figuring out a conversion to a 4-barrel. For this I noticed I could purchase an adapter or go all out and get a new intake manifold with the new carburetor.

If you change to a 4V, it'd be hard to beat the 4V version, the 4100. However, it was not stock on a 70, so you can do anything you want. For aftermarket, I prefer the Edelbrock (Carter AFB) for simplicity of installation and use. I don't like Holleys, they need frequent attention, and tend to leak. I should know, I've done my time, with Holleys on my daily driver for over 15 years. Don't use one of those silly adapters, change the manifold, it only takes a couple hours and will actually improve performance.
