22 gal tank in a '66
The dimensions of a 22 gal tank are identical except that it's 1" deeper.
I'd like to swap out my 16 gal tank and put in a 22 gal tank in my '66 coupe.
I know it'll drop right in, but how about the filler pipe?
It seems as if I would have to somehow bend it to make the right curvature.
Has anyone done this? Difficult? Worthwhile?

I've done it. You need the '70 22 gal tank, '70 fuel sender, and a new filler hose. Yes, you will need to modify the 66 neck. You might be able to use the 70 neck, but I didn't try that, since I already had the 66 neck.

I had thought about this being that our car will be a daily driver. Does the 22gal tank come up into the trunk higher or does it simple drop below more? At this point I have no room for a taller tank coming up higher in the trunk due to all the electronics mounted to plywood on the trunk. Safety note.. tank has been sealed off from trunk and 1/2" closed cell foam/vinyl between.
If it doesn't come up higher I might do this later.
