Question Will this fit - 245/40/17 on 17x8 with 4.5" backspace?

Will 245/40/17 have any clearance problems on a '68 fastback or should I go with 235/45/17? The rears are going to be 265/40/17 on 17x9 (6.0" BS).

they should fit fine, I run the same up front and 17 x 9.5 with 275/40/17 on the rear and my car is pretty low, you will have to trim the bumpstop that sticks out in the wheelwell and maybe a bit of sledgehammer clearancing at the lower inner wheelwell, not a big deal at all

I already have the bump stop piece bent out of the way.

You have the same wheel and tire size up front? Without rolled fenders will I have rubbing issues when I lower the car? I'm leaning towards 235/45/17 at the moment, so I don't have to deal with any issues.

I have 245 27 x 8's on the front of my 66. it has the shelby drop and 1" lowering springs. I have not rolled the fenders. It only rubs under extreme condidtions. which is breaking hard going fast around a tight bumpy corner.
I am going to roll the fenders and that will eliminate even that minor issue
