1969 351w to 390 swap help
I just bought a 1969 coupe that originally came equipped with a 351w/FMX, and it is my first Mustang. There is no motor in it now, just the mounts.
A friend of mine is giving me a 390/C6 for free, so that's the motor I am using
Question on the motor mounts. I have looked online, and I found several different motor mounts, with a wide price range for the 390.
First, are there two or four mounts for this motor, and secondly, does anyone have a good source for them? My Google-fu may be weak, but I can't seem to find this answer anywhere.
Thanks for the help.

Should be just the 2 mounts.. left and right, thought I'm not sure if they make they anymore. Could be an issue getting mounts. Personally I think you'd be better off looking for a 351w and dropping in. Its a much lighter block and cheaper aftermarket parts are widely available for it.

With little or no modification, the 351 frame brackets will work with the 390. You'll still need the insulators and the mounting brackets for the 390 block, but these are available new. You'll also need a C6 trans bracket, also available new.

Forgive my ignorance, but I am trying to wrap my head around they way this works.
Yearone.com had this to say about the motor mounts:
"Mustangs from 65 (after 11/65) on up will have the bracket you need welded onto the car, regardless of what engine was installed. The only thing required is to obtain the appropriate engine mounts for the engine in question."
Are the insulators sold separately from the mounts? I think these are what I looking for :

I dug up some info on the C6, and it looks like there are two parts to that as well, a crossmember and a mount?
Thanks again for the help.

This is a stunningly innacurate statement. What they are calling a bracket was the structure of the car, and was the same regardless of engine type on all 64-66 and 67-70 cars.

These are the insulators (the rubber mounts) go between the lower bracket bolted to the frame, and the upper bracket, bolted to the engine, three parts in all on each side.

It has a crossmember similar to the other transmissions, but with one cornder missing for clearance. The insulator is the same.
