I'm thinking a mag-flux, hot tank & valve job would be about $300/$400 anyway, and then I'd have to by the parts to asseble them and be back at the same price.

Where are you in CA? I'm in San Luis Obispo (central coast) and I'm pulling a set of '68 J code heads off my car next week that are similar to those. 1.90/1.54 valves, guideplates, screw in studs, port-matched exhaust, 63cc chambers, hardened valve seats. They've got about 15k mi on them since being built.
Starfury, I'm in Huntington Beach - Orange County. Want to sell those? Can't find any reliable, used heads that don't push $400 anyhow. That's why I thought Id go with these. At least they're pressure tested and fully assembled.

What parts? The shop will check the springs, Seals should be included. If you have a bent valve or something, that will be like 10 bucks.

I paid 250 to have my heads done, fully assembled and ready to install (less paint). I would not bother with magnafluzx if you are just doing s stock rehab to sell.

Even teh cheapest new aftermarket heads are gonna cost you about a grand.

Quotes were $235 and $250 for machining two heads, cleaning and magna flux. No decent shop will machine heads without checking for cracks first. With new springs and valves, I'm easily at $500.

I bought these:

Fresh paint and pressure tested. Can't beat that.
