Default '67 4-lug rim questions

What is the offcial bolt pattern of the 1967 6 cylinder 4-lug coupes? and, whats the backspacing? I think I heard it's 4x5???? I want some classic 5 spoke cragers. No welds or outlawII's. On their website, there's a bunch of really nice 5 spokes for 4-lugs....

as always, THX for the info!

[and, because I got good service there today, I'll give a plug to "The Mustang Shop" located in Auburn, WA]

The bolt pattern is 4x4.5. Backspacing you can run up to a 4.5" on the front and I around 6" on the rear.

Okay, so I found some 4x4.5's I like (the Crager 600-S/S series, the black ones would look good on mine) but will a size 16x7 rim work? and, how is that number measured? the 16 is the height of it, and the 7 is???? the width?

What am I missing here? How do you get a 5 spoke wheel with a 4 bolt pattern?

Have the center section cut out to where bolt pattern will work and then have a center cap to cover up the hole.

Yes 7 is the width. As long as the backspacing is 4.5" or less for the front you are good.

I wish they said price on the site....like are they $150 each or $500? I've seen some 4 lugs for like $50 each in the summit catalog.

My rims were only $42 a piece, but they are 5 lug. I converted over to 5 lug and 8" rear and bought Cragar D Window rims.

4-4 1/2"

and, whats the backspacing?
Depends on the width of the wheel. See the chart below.

I think I heard it's 4x5???? I want some classic 5 spoke cragers.
Not a chance. The Cragar S/S was once manufactured in 4-spoke, but they were never common, and discontinued decades ago. Putting 5-spokes on a 4 bolt hub would require thick, weak adapter spacers.

No welds or outlawII's. On their website, there's a bunch of really nice 5 spokes for 4-lugs....

Here's a nice wheel the Mustang Barn carries…

I did everything in our garage. Was really easy to me. You need V8 front drums and the V8 shield that bolts to the spindle. Then for the rear you just need a complete 8", 8.8, or 9" rear end. Will have to buy a V8 driveshaft or have your 6cyl driveshaft modified to hold a 1310 rear u-joint.

The front spindles are the same for 6cyl and V8. I have a writeup I did on it, should give you an idea of what to do. It isn't the greatest ever since I wrote it.

Yes you did post a link with 4 lug 5 spoke rims, but the backspacing is over 1" too much.
