Default info on how to get appraisal

Hello,
I have a nice 66 stang convert....I have put a fair amount of work into it; but the insurance company said I should get it appraised...I have never had to do this before.

Where do you go/look for that sort of thing? Is it your local garage that can do this or a specific business? How much does it usually cost for getting this done?

Do you need to shop around for a variety of appraisals or are they all pretty much the same?

thanks so much for the help...I just really had no idea where to start as it is a first for me.
Cheers,
micah

Contact an appraiser from http://www.i-van.org. There's a list of appraisers by area.
