How do you know this carb was made in 1998? Pictures would help a lot.

the new remanufactured 1100 carbs to a 65-68 have different components or took them off from the original carbs back in the day

Are you asking a question or making a statement?

When I talked to Pony Carbs before I ordered they told me they improved some parts but they all fit just the same. I needed a choke rod, which they made of metal instead of plastic, some springs, and screws.

Hope this helps.

The only new carbs made were from Pony Carbs, and they are out of business.

The 1100 from a 1965 has a Spark Control Valve, and was made to run with a Load-O-Matic distributor. If you put an 1100 carb from a 1968 with a Load-O-Matic you probably won't get it running unless you disconnect the vacuum advance. Optimally you need a distributor from a 1968 to run an 1100 carb from a 1968.
