Default 1970 Mustang Hard to Start

I have a 1970 Mustang 302 edelbrock 4bbl edelbrock manifold sometimes it starts right up but usually it is hard to start if I leave it sit for a couple of days it cranks forever,or if I add a splash of gas to the carb it starts right up was wondering if anyone knows what is happening after it starts it runs fine.Checked timing it is right on 6 deg. The carb has just been rebuilt but it has always been like this. There is a alum spacer b/t the carb and manifold
Thanks Mark

I have a '69 302 that has been similar to this since I got it in '87. Even did a complete rebuild of the engine with a new manifold and carb and I still have to give it a few pumps on the accelerator before I turn the key. As you said though, it's only after a couple of days of sitting though.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help, I just wanted to let you know you aren't the only one.
