Hello!

My accelerator cable need a change. When removing it I noticed that the end that attaches to the gas pedal was custom made since it had no hole. This probably has something to do with the carburetor being upgraded from 2 to 4 barrel.

Most dealers offers one accelerator cable for 71 https://www.npdlink.com/store/produc...-107480-1.html

and one for 72-73 https://www.npdlink.com/store/produc...-107483-1.html

So my question is, wich cable should I buy since I have 4 barrel carburetor? I also need the end to like the one ment for 71.

When I converted from a 2b to 4b decades ago, I simply reused the same cable. It is still there from OEM...not sure why that should change as the linkage is in about the same location for both.

Ok, the reason why I brought it up was that I read a thread about this.

I had cable and bracket from Lokar, but this time I ordered a throttle cable from NPD. I also got a new original bracket. We see how it goes when I get the parts.

How have you all come up with a nice solution for the throttle return spring?

I used an off the shelf throttle cable holder that had a provision for a spring. Or you can run a spring between the throttle linkage and a valve cover screw.
