Ran correctly last week after struggling to keep it running, you step on the gas it just wants to die, no power.

Okay so this engine and carb have never run right...

Your choke process sounds correct but now now you are telling me it wont idle at the proper RPM because the throttle plate is like too far open?

When warm idle rpm should be about 850 what is it?

Was running ok before the rebuild other than the fact it burned oil. I will have to verify the RPM and get back to you.

Might have found my problem, I can see where the throttle plate used to travel further closed, will make adjustments and get back to you. Thanks for your time!
