I recently had the car into the garage to fix a leak in the power steering and my mechanic took this photo for me. That looks like the PS cylinder where it is bolted into the bracket? Anyway, see he's pointing right at that bushing... there is one on either side that is badly deteriorated and needs to be replaced. What the hell are those called so I can track em down? I've found they often sell little kits of bushings, bolts, etc for stuff like this but I haven't been able to find this one. Thanks
Yeah that looks like it would help if it was bigger and had a legend for what each part was? Any idea what the attached part is? Is that the cylinder for the PS with a rubber boot over it? I've never worked on the steering so I'm at a bit of a loss.
I'd call it the power steering ram mount bushing. Should be available at your local parts store, but getting the desk jockey to find the right part for you might be a challenge. It might require getting out a book *gasp*.
(I used to work at O'Reilly's and would keep all of the old catalogs just so I could actually find things when people asked for something that didn't show up easily in the computer)
