Orange Peel on new stang
My new stang has some orange peel in the paint, not really major but still something that i would like to remove. Is there a write up for this? Or is it something I should leave to the pros only?

all of the mustangs that i have seen come through the ford dealerships i've worked at have had orange peel and i've been told it's been like that (not sure if that's 100% true) there's are some companies that have liquid products that claim to remover orange peel (warnerchemicals.com) haven't tried it so i dont know if it really does it...other than that, the only other way i know of to remove orange peel is to wet sand the entire car

Just curious what color? I don't know why they even let something out of the factory like that. I looked at a different sterling gray GT before I got mine and it had bad orange peel in the same area as you do. It was so bad I figured the car had been repainted by a body shop. The car I have now has a small amount of orange peel on the lower rt fender but it's not noticeable unless you get down on your hands and knees, the rest of the paint looks smooth as glass. Go back to where you bought it and compare it to others on the lot and then talk to the service dept. Maybe they will take care of it if you can show that the paint is defective.

Its Kona Blue, its not really bad at all, like it looks like glass but if you get down and look at it you can obviously see it. Maybe its me too but Kona shows every little damn imperfection.

I have minor orange peel located on the upper portions of both rear quarter panels of my black 05 GT, and have done quite a bit of research on the subject. It appears that most all newer cars have a lot of orange peel when compared to cars manufactured just 10 years ago. This is due to government regulation intended to curb pollution and the long term effects of green house gases. I've found a good two part article about orange peel and how to correct it. Part 1 explains how government regulated OEM paint applications have changed and why this causes orange peel. Part 2 is about correcting orange peel.

Maybe its me but i was at the dealer on Friday for an oil change and all of the mustangs paint looked pretty good with barely any orange peel but the other models were absolutely horrible.
