it's rare but you could have broken the axle tube.......check around the housing see if there are any cracks.....

With it in the air, have someone push and pull the tires while you look.

Ok ive found the issue...I dont know what its called but i used a picture of my 65's rear to show you since i dont have any of my 7.5 without going to the garage to get my camra.

The part right behind the ujoint i guess its like a shaft? I really have no idea but when i put it into gear it like snapps..

Need a pic of the 7.5 to get a better idea but it sounds like the yoke broke or whatever its called on a Fox. I say ditch the 7.5 for an 8.8. Itll bolt right in.

Yeah i know but thats all i had available tomorrow morning before i go to school ill get some pictures of it. Isnt the yoke really expensive to fix?
I may be able to use the 8.8 out of my 86gt, Im putting a new rear in it so this may all work out too bad my 88 just isnt even worth this haha its too slow

Are you sure it isnt the u-joint? 7.5's have a flange that bolts to the rear end. Like this

If it was the U-joint wouldnt it have play to it? none of the bolts are broken or loose.... theres no cracks that i can see... I let my dad hear it and he climbed to the ground and looked when i shifted it and hes stuck on that shaft in the center of the flange, he said thats whats making the noise....

The shaft in the center of the flange is the pinion gear. I'd drop the driveshaft and have someone turn the tires over while feeling the flange to see if you can feel if it's inside.Check the pinion nut too.

Does it make noise when you just turn the tires? Here's an exploded view of the internals.

The thing is, nothing internal would make it pull to one side or sway.
