My car has 52k miles on it, not sure when the guy put it on there before me, but its in great condition and it still looks like new... Cant imagine it have but 10k-15k miles on it. But whats the average lifespan of these things?

It will probably work a long time if you take care of the car. I have seen some pony cars with vortechs with over 100k miles, and probably 75k miles was with the S/C installed. You can get lemons and stuff with whatever you buy, so who knows how long it will last? But they have a good lifespan, don't expect it to quit working in 10k miles.
