Looking for the right Stang... Straight 6 vs V-8 with OD?

Just joined. Am looking for the right Mustang.. I think i am going for the 1969, but will use it, as opposed to garage sitting. So with gas at $4 going to $6-- Which is more fuel efficient the Straight 6 or a 302 with OD.? (Yeah I know if wanted fuel efficiency I would get an Prius golf cart. But I dont want a golf cart to drive.)

The straight six wouldn't be bad, but I think the 302 would definitely be the way to go.

You'll be able to buy the 6 cylinder car for a lot less money, nobody wants them.
A good running 302 on a carb in that early will easily get 20MPG.....
