New tires and rims : posts to small
I have a 2001 V6 mustang and was given a set of tires and after market rims. They are p245/50 r16. The lug pattern is correct but the posts on my caliber aren't long enough to get a nut on. They arnt mags just need new posts but cant seem to find any that will work at the local auto stores... Any ideas or info on where to find some / how to go about this would be much appreciated. THANKS

The lugs are replaceable, but shouldn't need to be with rims that are designed for that car. I'd investigate those rims a little more. Search this forum or Google what offset you can run.
And welcome to the forum, hope we can help you out.

1. I know the "lugs" are replacebale.. I'm specifically talking about the posts that come off the calipers that go through the 5 lug pattern on my rims... The rims I have are offset but unfortunately cannot find any specifications for them. I'm only on 100 on the rims and tires so Im about to sell them and just buy some new tires and keep the factory rims on. The only other option I can see viable (unless some one can direct me to a place to buy new posts that are longer) is wheel adapters.

new rims
Thanks for the replies...

Again, I don't have any experience installing after market rims but did a good bit of research on offset and tire dimensions.

Don't take this the wrong way as I mean no disrespect..... but I have no idea what your talking about now. If you could post up a pic of these posts that come off the calipers, maybe we can sort this out.

Your looking for wheel studs, not posts, and they are not connected to a caliper. They are pressed into the hub. I believe you will need to go to a 3 or 3.5 inch stud and use open ended lug nuts.
I think the stock ones are 1.75"
