First time thoughts of Mustang

I think I might do that!
I was looking around quickly in the neighboring area for 2012's, and found a few V6's for 23-24 grand, which is totally doable. Talk them down 4-5k, 4-5k for trade in. Could potentially walk away with a new car for 14-15K, that would make my day.
I was looking at the performance pack that is an option, with the upgraded wheels and sways, is that worth it over a barebones stock? Or am I better off just finding myself the same upgrades and pocket some cash? Just curious what else to be on the lookout for.

The car is only 2 tens slower on the road course than the M BMW and it's because it doesn't have Koni shocks.
The interior is just as refined on the new Stangs...
Best car for the buck hands down.

I have an '08 GT Premium and '06 BMW 330 6 speed coupe which is my daily driver. I love them both, but totally different cars. The Mustang V-8 is raw power and a joy to drive and is super sharp looking, ours is a Vert. My BMW w/sports & premium pkg also has 18" OEM tires with 35 series in rear & 40 up front. The car literally handles like a slot car and the Inline 6 is smooth a silk plus very fast and great MPG. On average the BMW gets ~ 5-6 MPG better vs the Stang. The BMW also looks and feels much lighter and also balanced 50-50 so it handles the curves better and also brakes much better. But the Stang handles ok and has that great raw power and rumbles that is missing in the BMW. Also, the Stang you can use regular Gas unlike the BMW 330's that require Premium. Comfort features are about equal but the Mustang is definitely noiser inside but not too bad, I like them both fairly loaded inside w/equipment.
I have a 530 I and totally agree with you. My car also has the sport package and it rides and handle like a dream. There's this one curve that in my mustang I dare not go over 70 and my (well my wifes) bimmer I can take it eaisly at 90 or so. Two different cars but I do prefer the mustang.

I am partial obviously (we are in a Mustang forum..lol) but I would go with the Stang all day long.
1. It's American
2. The styling is absolutely awesome
3. It handles better than almost any car on the road (Roush Stage 3)
4. Its faster than most cars on the road
5. For a sports car it has excellent sight lines
6. Modding the car is cheaper when you consider bang for buck
7. People are less of an A hole to you on the road cause you are driving it instead of a Japanese or European car.
8. When parked somewhere, people are less inclined to come by and key it, etc.. (same logic as number 7)
9. For regular maintenance, parts stores actually have the parts. (Nothing like fixing something and a part breaks and you gotta wait 4 days for it)
10. Holds its residual value very well which is good in a few years when its time for a new one.
