Warranty question
Hey guys I'm new around here and just picked up an 08 gt/cs with 58k miles. Also got the 105k/5year warranty and I was wondering can I get away with a short throw shifter? The factory one feels terrible and sometimes it's a little hard to find 3rd. Also would like to know what mods can I get away with on warranty? Currently the car only has a CAI, MBRP axle back. Thanks guys.

The only thing they can attempt to void the warranty on is the transmission if you swap shifters but they cant void the entire warranty. They may try and void the engine warranty depending on the CAI but they then have to somewhat prove that the mods are the reason for the failure.

First, an extended warranty is good for padding whoever's pocket it is that sold it to you. You could have taken that $$, put it in an interest bearing account to be used for repairs, and I'd bet when you eventually unload the car you'd still have most if not all of that plus interest.
Second, there's no magic mod to improve fuel mileage. Be sure your tires are inflated properly, the vehicle is maintained, and drive like a granny including coasting to stops and anticipating traffic flow. But then again, we bought these cars for the wood they give us, NOT for fuel economy.

How are you figuring your fuel mileage? Hopefully not by using that woeful onboard, even IF you're resetting it at every fill-up. Best way is to hand calculate at every fill-up.

The 05's thru 10's are typically off to the high side by 1-2 MPG based on a poll that was done sometime back. My GT is off high by an average of 1.5 MPG. Yes, there are a few that are pretty accurate like my wife's '06 V6 Pony. Her's is usually within .2 MPG of hand calculated. From what I've seen, the 11's on up are more accurate.
Regardless, be sure to reset the onboard at each fill-up.

I do trust it. If I reset it at fill up and leave it alone, checking at next fill up, mine tends to be within a couple tenths MPG of hand calculations (miles devided by gallons) at worst. I also find it almost same as ScanGageII if both are reset at same points.
I tend to fill up at same BP station and same pump 7 most of the time.
What can throw it off seemingly is any resetting in between tanks fill ups. It's still right, you've just changed the sampling.
