Pass Inspection?

Pass Inspection?
Whatsuo everybody, my 06 GT is having issues with the 02 sensor (of course right around my inspection expiration). Usually my CEL comes on and when i check the codes, the p0430 for Cat Bank 2 comes up...
The CEL didn't come on this time... but if i check for codes with my tuner, p0430 is there. Will the car pass inspection? Never had this scenario happen...

P0430 code is not necessarily an O2 sensor. This code is saying that the catalyst is not performing efficiently anymore. The rear O2 sensor reading is compared to the front sensor and this is how the ECU knows something isn't right. Link will give you some troubleshooting ideas to follow through with.

Yes that's correct, sorry I worded my post wrong. Yeah I get this code every now and then, usually because there's a gap where my overaxle and Xpipe meet so I have to go back under and adjust it. Will it pass though? Usually my CEL comes on with this code but this time it didn't.

Anything that is AFTER the O2 sensors should not have any effect. Connection at X-pipe to over axle pipe should not be the cause of this code.
Will it pass? I guess that depends on the guy doing the inspection. Do they get out the OBD reader only if the light is on? Do they use it on EVERY inspection? My state does not require inspections, so its not an issue for me, and it makes me unable to say if it will pass. May have to just take it in and find out. Best to pull up with your own reader and clear the codes before you shut off the car and walk in to the shop.

An 0430 (or 0420) code will not pass the OBDII inspection. That code will not let the Cat, HO2 or Evap monitors run, and the test will come back Not Ready. Clearing the codes and not doing a whole drive cycle before the test will return a Not Ready also, as will having the rear O2's shut off in the tune. P0430 and 0420 mean the rear O2 sensor is not seeing the right amount of emission reduction. Those codes exist so you can tell if a stock car's cats are going bad. Headers and aftermarket cats set off these codes frequently. The only long term solution I found for my car is in my sig - Kooks Green Cats. Others have had success with doubled up anti-foulers to raise the rear O2's out of the exhaust stream, but they didn't work for me.

Up to 2004 there were MIL eliminator adapters you could plug between the sensor and connector.
Others have said Ben Franklin is pretty good at fooling emission computers.
