Default What's my car worth?

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to get a good idea of a realistic selling price for my baby. It's an auto 06 GT premium and I'm the second owner, I got it in 08 with 22k miles, I just rolled 90k this week and I understand that most cars need to be under 100k to get a loan for it. So I either keep it through the next couple years to where someone will have the cash for it or get out of it soon (spring?) and into a new pony!

It's been really reliable and I only had to replace the alternator which was last year. Otherwise it has a new top last year as well from when someone smashed in the glass rear, last month I put in new struts and shocks (motorcraft) new outer tie rod ends (moog) and rotors and pads all around (centric) The pirellli p zero neros are all in great shape. IDK what else...always royal purple, always good gas. She's been so good to me but the new ones

When I went to check out the new mustangs, the dealer wanted to give me $5000 which I thought was way too low. You think a dealer would give me $8000?

Could I get $10k from someone? I know it's not a real desirable car but I feel it's worth a lot more than $5k although everyone will feel that way about their car.

I'll put some pics up, any comments are appreciated

The best way to get real selling prices for your car is at kbb.com

You can find what your car is worth in your area.

You will always get more selling it outright, if you can deal with the b/s that goes with it. Dealers will always low ball to make a good profit on the resale. You could check around for cars like yours for sale in your area, to get a general idea of what to ask.

And you will get a lot more for it without all that Pittsburgh Steeler stuff on it

Dealer is always going to low ball you.

All you can do is try. Put an ad on Auto Trader with plenty of pictures and see if you get any bites.

Best to put it up for sale right now during hot summer months.

Worth going to like Carmax or AutoNation or somewhere similar that will purchase vehicles. Free to have them check it out and give you a price. They typically do better than dealer trades. Still will probably get more from a private sale, but you do have to deal with ads, showings, negotiating, potential crazies, etc. Good luck to you.
