Default DD tires

I'm about to pull the trigger on a 2011 GT500 svt. Sooo F ing excited!!!

I want to get a set of everyday tires and wheels (I'll use my others for the track). I'm thinking or 19s all around. Is there a tire with good treadlife AND good performance? Suggestions?

Thanks in advance

First off, congratulations on getting a new Shelby GT500. I wish i could line up a new 2011 like your's. Good street tires are a very personal opinion and i'm sure others will be along to offer suggestions.

Welcome to the board! And big time gratz on getting a brand new GT500!

Since you are in Texas, the stock tires that come on them are absolutely great. No need to change tires for winter and all that crap, unless you are in the Panhandle.

Thanks Jim,

I've heard the stock tires with the svt package are great. But my concern is that I have heard they don't last long and cost a fortune to replace. So I'm considering everyday tires and track tires. Do I have bad info?
