Plans to buy a Mustang, but...

The 11-13 5.0 and the 89-93 5.0s aren't even in the same league. That's a ~20 year difference, technology changes so much within that time that they're not even comparable.
The '14 is going to be the 50th anniversary, so I'd imagine Ford has something up their sleeve,
but do you really want to wait
another 3 years or so?

Well I wasn't compairing the cars as in the are the same in performance...just the desire to find a good clean car from that era....
And if Ford is going to do more 'retro' in 2014 then I'm out....

Apparently they're moving on from the retro styling from what I've heard... We'll see

Welcome to MF! Playing both sides eh? I'm the same. Owned three Stangs, two Camaros. Currently drive the 96 GT (in the shop) and have the 84 Z28 taking up space in the driveway for the winter.
(Stangs- 90 LX Hatch, 97 coupe, 96 GT)
(Camaros- 92 RS, 84 Z28)

Nothing wrong with that really, there are times when Camaros got it and there are times when Mustangs got it. What I mean is which car catches your interest the most at the time. And at least, either way you go,m you are still buying made in America!

For this gen, The Mustangs' got it. sure, the ZL1 Camaro is coming out soon with 550hp, and will beat the current GT500, but come 2013 the 5.4 is being bored to 5.8, and will be using the same supercharger used on the ZR1 Corvette, for a total of 620hp. bye bye slowmaro. this is a great way to say goodbye to this gen of Mustangs, as 2014 will be the 50th anniversary, and a whole new body style. Yes, its been confirmed that the new Mustang will NOT be retro based, but a complete evolution and moving forward.
you and your friend must have a 10 year gap or something, V6 Mustang and GT500? or are mommy and daddy helping you out?
