Just bought me a GT convertible
Well, I just bought me a mustang, so I figured this would be the best forum to join.
I just picked up a 1986 mustang gt convertible. The motor is a 5.0 ho from an 89. It has an aod trans.
It has a brand new top, just needs to be restretched and tightened. It has been sitting, with the top down, in the guys garage for 2 years. He cracked the bellhousing on the trans and parked it. It is cracked all the way around the bellhousing. A trans comes with it, but the shaft that drives the pump is broken, so I will have to swap the pumps. He said that one of the hydraulic hoses for the top leaks, so he bought a new set and never got around to getting them swapped.
I will get started tomorrow after work on getting the trans out.
I have never seen the wheels that are on it. I will get a couple of pics posted tomorrow.

I got the trans swapped. I put the battery out of my truck in it and it started right up. It didn't even turn over for 2 seconds before it started. It runs strong and sounds great with open headers. I still have to put the exhaust back on it. It has the 4 converters, but the mufflers are rotted out. I think I will put the h pipe back on and put a straight pipe in place of the mufflers.
I will get some pictures tomorrow when I get the car back on the ground and backed out of the garage.
