Default 1968 S Code 390 convertible

Hello, I am new to the forum. I have a unique opportunity to buy a 1968 S code 390 convertible. It has original body panels and floor, and no rust. The car is in very good condition (not a show car, but high end driver quality). However, the engine is not original, but is a period correct 390. Is that a deal breaker? Future collectability? Thanks. (They want around 50 K)
