Default Race day Tuning

Hello

I was wondering how i should prepair my car for the races. Im running mainly stock so is there anything in particular that i should do?

I was told to adjust my tire pressure. my tires can take up to 45psi should i have them all even or more in front or back?

Check everything from fluids to tire pressure. I wouldn't run 45 PSI in them though. That is a lot. Just because the tire can take it doesn't mean you should use that much.

What kind of racing are you doing? 1/4 mile, autocross, track event? Depending on what type of racing you are doing, you are going to take your car through some sort of tech inspection; I dont think they will check your car out for 1/4 mile racing. But most of the preperation you can do is routine maintence of your car.

In general you should make sure your tires are properly inflated with good tread on them. Brakes pads and rotors are in good condition, along with clean brake fluid. All your hoses under the hood are attached and not craked or leaking. Take all loose items out of your car and trunk, i.e. CD cases, cell phone charger, even your floor mats.

if road racing I would upgrade the pads in the front to a race pad, I would air those babies up to 40 or 45 thats a heavy car. I would also get rid of the coolant and use distilled water and water wetter. This is a safety thing coolant is slick if anything happens it will dump it on the track and and your tires
