New Procharger + belt slippage

New Procharger + belt slippage
Please help! I just installed a P-1SC, 3 core, 8# Procharger. It runs good, makes good power with the generic chip, but the belt slips above 3500 RPMs--especially with the AC on. The car is a 2003 GT with only 8K miles. Could my tensioner need to be replaced this soon? Please help!! Suggestions?

RE: New Procharger + belt slippage
Procharger burned a Diablo sport chip for a stock MAF, Longtubes, and offroad X pipe. I plan to get it dyno tuned next week at FastSpecialties in Vancouver, WA. It runs OK now, but I assume that a dyno will net much better efficiency.
Thanks for any input!

check to make sure the blower pulley is aligned perfectly with the rest of the pulleys, and i suggest a gatorback belt as your next purchase. im pushing 9psi on my vortech with no belt slip. get a gatorback belt, works like a charm.

RE: New Procharger + belt slippage
Where do I purchase a Gatorback pulley? What is the difference? The Procharger instructions were very vague. I put a washer in between the alternator and the offset bracket. Was this a mistake? It did not specify to do this in the instructions, however, it was in the same package as the offset bracket. I was worried about this. Could it misallign my pulleys enough to cause slippage?

yeah that washer might have screwed up the alignment. and you can get a gatorback belt at any parts store, just bring your current belt with you to get the right size, or the p/n of your current belt so they can cross reference it.

I think your tensioner is suspect, but you belt may also be slightly too big. Going to a 1/2' smaller belt might do it. Also, you could sandblast your current peuuley for more friction. I have had good luck with this.

RE: New Procharger + belt slippage
Does any company make a high-strength aftermarket tensioner? I roughed up the pulley with sandpaper and a file... going for a testdrive in a few minutes. I can't imagine that a smaller belt could be installed. The Procharger belt just barely makes it on. Thank you all for your help and suggestions. Keep 'em coming!
