I'd like to minimize wheel well gap or keep it the same when I get new wheels and tires
If the tire is smaller at all, the car will sit half the difference between the new tire and OEM shorter and the wheel well gap will change by half the difference between the new tire and OEM.

In my case: 235/50/18 is 27.3" tall, my Star Specs at 245/45/18 are 26.7" tall. A loss of .6" in tire height. The car sits .3" lower to the ground, and there is .3" more wheel gap. Was it noticeable, if you've been staring at your car forever, yeah it is noticeable but to others, not really. It matters even less if you are lowered IMO.

Thank you. Now I really can't decide lol. I'd like to get a combo from AM but any tire they offer that's wider (I'd like to go wider) is also smaller in diameter. I know it's very little but if I'm going to do this once I'd like to not add gap even of it is a few tenths of an inch.

I'd like a 275 tire but will probably end up going 255/45-18

Hardest decision for this car by far is wheels and tires.

For a couple or three tenths . . .

When you're in the car, you won't see it.

The tires will wear about that much from sticker to wear bars (and nobody ever worries about this).

Sometimes, no single solution is the absolute best for all of the criteria that went into finding it. At that point, you might as well suck it up, make your decision, decide that you're going to live with it, and not look back. Second-guessing everything you do can be a real crippler.

Did any one mount the 275/45/18s? Any rubbing?

Not yet, tires are in my garage waiting for wider rims. I will update when I do though. Maybe I'll take a pic of them against the existing wheel/tires this weekend...

I do know the tires are the same size as 275/40/19s and those are sold with some wheel tire combos online.
